Beal Street Academy is a small private school serving students of every grade level.  We provide an intense education intervention to increase student academic performance.

We have an excellent reputation for our ability to improve students’ academic performances—through both the Fluency Factory and Beal Street Academy. We have an excellent, highly qualified staff, and will continue to provide parents with an intensive, highly individualized alternative for their children.

Our goal is to provide the individualized, high quality services that are missing on the South Shore. We serve students who need well planned, fast moving academic services, with a high staff ratio of experienced and skilled teachers, and a powerful, research-based approach to learning that assures they will be successful. Beal Street Academy will prevent another year of struggling or failure in a placement that does not truly meet the needs of the student.

Who do we serve?

When we began Beal Street Academy five years ago we were responding to the needs of students who were attending the Fluency Factory. We know that there are still many students who are not being appropriately served—students who could benefit immensely from the intensity and quality of our curriculum. We now have the freedom to serve students of all ages—and we have a staff with the skills and experience to make every child a success.

Our students fall into several groups.

• Dyslexic Students:  Our battery of reading programs has proven extremely effective and can bring students to excellent performances in reading and reading comprehension—despite serious learning issues.
   
• Students recovering from injury or illness:  We provide a safe, intensive academic environment where these students can recover their skills and become stronger students, regardless of grade level.
   
• World Travelers:  Students traveling extensively may be penalized by their schools. We provide intensive services to catch them up, and long distance tutoring and curricula so that they can stay current wherever they go.
   
• Elite Athletes:  We have provided division 1 potential athletes with assistance and are familiar with the demands that these students experience. We can help the traveling athlete to maintain their academic edge, or to rapidly acquire the skills that they may be lacking so that they can re-enter or bypass academic requirements.
   
• Students with serious learning disabilities:  We are increasingly seeing students who have a variety of learning issues—and we have helped them to remediate these issues and move rapidly to higher levels. One of our Beal Street students was able to increase his skill in each domain by four years in one academic year.
   
• Students on the spectrum:  Our staff has provided academic instruction to a number of students on the spectrum—and with great success. Our approach emphasizes positives, and results in learning that is happily received and durable.
