Mission Statement

Beal Street Academy will provide an intense education intervention to increase student academic performances by at least two years for each year in the program.

Beal Street Academy is a small private school serving students in grades 6 through 12. Our goal is to provide a fresh start for children who have struggled to achieve their full potential.  We welcome students who have fallen behind due to illness, disability, or problems with a one-size-fits-all instruction model.  In many cases we can help a student make up lost ground and quickly return to his or her referring school, newly equipped with self confidence and the skills to succeed.

We can help children who have been labeled with a variety of learning disabilities, including:

  • Reading disability
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Prader-Willi syndrome
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Non-verbal learning disabilities

Our primary modes of instruction are Precision Teaching and Direct Instruction.  We are patterned after Ben Bronz Academy in West Hartford, Connecticut, and Morningside Academy in Seattle, Washington.
